Peristaltic pump is a device that applies the principle of peristalsis, whereby the fluid being handled is given a head by a constriction running along the hose.
The hose used in peristaltic pumps are typically made of polymers, which, in addition to the aforementioned mechanical characteristics, also offer significant chemical compatibility with solvents, acids, inks, paints, etc.
Furthermore, elastomers reinforced with textile inserts are used to ensure the tube’s strength even at high pressures and over long periods.
The main users of peristaltic pumps are in sectors where avoiding fluid contamination, handling viscous or abrasive liquids, and ensuring extremely precise dosing are essential. Since the fluid comes into contact exclusively with the flexible tube, these pumps are the ideal choice for hygienic processes or those involving aggressive chemicals.
